G’milut Chasadim (acts of lovingkindness) and Tikun Olam (repairing the world) are the bywords of “NHC Cares” – our CHESED/Social Action Committee.
This committee has carried out an annual Kol Nidre food drive and year round drive to assist the local Kosher food pantry. It is also coordinating home visits to those of our congregation who are homebound. A “Spring Into (Social) Action” program is being designed to encourage all of our members to volunteer for charitable community projects.
Please contact Flora Silver, Rhoda Patsner or Rabbi Kurland (c/o the NHC Office) if you would like to be a part of our “NHC Cares” Chesed Committee, if there is many assistance the Chesed Committee can offer you, or if there is anything within our community you would like to suggest the Chesed Committee assist with.
BIKUR CHOLIM (“Visiting the Sick”)
A new program is being launched by our NHC Chesed Committee.
The goal is to visit home bound members of our congregational family, bringing the spirit of Nanuet Hebrew Center to those who cannot join us at the Shul.
Do you know of someone who might wish to have such a visit? Or would you like to know more about our Group?
Please contact Rabbi Kurland at (845) 623-9150 or firstname.lastname@example.org
